Tourmalike
"Tourmalike Regular" changes from pink to green
"Tourmalike Plus" changes from purple to blue

YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT!

We have two basic colors of this remarkable color change stone.
1. "Tourmalike Regular" with a color in daylight and incandescent lighting of rich pink. The stone changes to a Tourmaline green color in flourescent lighting. In mercury vapor and sodium lighting, it will change to pastel blue.
2. "Tourmalike Plus" with a color in daylight of Siberian Amethyst. Under flourescent lighting it chages to a rich blue like that of fine Kashmir Sapphire.
The colors are stable and permanent

TOURMALIKE

This is laser grade silica that exhibits no bubbles or strain lines. It's principle coloring components are dysprosium, which gives the material it's watermelon red color in daylight/incandescent light , and praseodymium which exhibits a green color under fluorescent light.

Hardness: 6.75 - R.I. 1.54 to 1.65 - Dispersion is medium to strong - Cutting angles are 43 degrees. Crown 42 degrees. The critical angle varies from 42 to 36-1/2 degrees. Recommend polishing with cerium oxide on tin lap or 50,000 mesh diamond on last lap is excellent.

TOURMALIKE "+"

This laser grade silica is virtually the same as the TOURMALIKE regular except that its's coloring components are Neodymium in high concentration and small traces of Rare Earths. The Neodymium reacts with Mercury fluorescent light to change from the amethyst color to blue. Hardness, R.I., Dispersion & cutting angles - same as Tourmalike Reg.
